Not everyone who enjoys the outdoors has to go backpacking, camping or even spend a night outside - join Peak Adventures on one of these wonderful day hikes to get a sense of the beauty only a day's drive away from Sac State! Check out the great hikes we have scheduled that will take you to the Sierra Nevada mountain range or the sea! Be sure to bring a camera for excellent photo opportunities.

Prices are listed as Sac State Student/Faculty and Staff/General Public. Please be prepared to show your One Card to qualify for student or staff prices.

Feather Falls Day Hike

This is a spectacular opportunity to see the sixth-highest waterfall in the continental United States. Feather Falls plunges 640 feet over a sheer granite cliff in its rush to meet the middle fork of the Feather River.

The hike is eight miles round trip, moderately strenuous and somewhat steep at times, but not technically difficult. Beginners in good shape will enjoy this hike! Price includes transportation and guides.

Spring Flowers Day Hike

You will be astounded at the array of color that can be found in the hills and mountains surrounding Sacramento. We are headed out for the day to view and learn about the flora of the area (either the coast region or the foothills, depending on the hike - please see below). Bring a lunch and a camera - the cost includes transportation, entrance fees, and enthusiastic guides.

Fall Colors Day Hike

Nature's seasonal highlights are a great reason to get yourself outdoors. These hikes are designed to bring you to the "hot spots" of the spring season, where picture taking opportunities will be at their all time best as we stroll along the trail. Pack yourself a nice lunch, throw on a pair of comfortable shoes and don't forget your camera! Cost includes transportation, entrance fees, and enthusiastic guides.
