Experience the physical and mental challenges of rock climbing! We offer a wide variety of climbing trips to take you from the gym to real rock. All levels of climbers are welcome! All rock climbing trips include all rock climbing gear such as shoes, harnesses, helmets, ropes, and chalk.

For overnight trips you may reserve sleeping bags, pads, and tents on a space available basis. Call to reserve your equipment today at 916.278.6321!

Basic Rock Climbing I- Top Rope Climbing

If you've always wanted to try this exciting sport, but didn't know how to get started; look no further! Designed for the adventurous beginner, this class covers the basics: knot tying, belaying, general equipment use, and basic climbing techniques. Safety is our #1 goal, and this trip is designed with that in mind so everyone has a great time!

Cost includes all climbing gear, transportation, and expert instruction by the Peak climbing staff. All you need to bring is a lunch, camera, hiking shoes, and last but not least, your spirit of adventure!

All pre-trips will be at either Granite Arch Climbing Gym or Pipeworks Climbing Gym and you will notified the week of your trip.

Indoor Climbing

This is a basic introduction into the world of indoor sport climbing on manufactured climbing holds. The emphasis of this course is on learning the YDS (Yosemite Decimal System) and improving techniques of movement on manufactured rock.

Price includes gear (shoes, harness, and belay device) and instruction. Transportation is NOT provided. This class will be held at one of three locations: Sacramento Pipeworks, Granite Arch, or at the Peak Adventures Challenge Center on the Sac State campus. Yosemite Intermediate Climbing

Join us for our flagship 3-day climbing adventure! We will set up camp in one of the most picturesque areas in California; Tuolumne Meadows, in Yosemite National Park. This trip is designed for beginning to intermediate climbers who want to experience something new and exciting. You will get a chance to climb high on classic Yosemite granite while taking in fantastic views. Depending on time, we may even do a little hiking, or even hike/climb Cathedral Peak!

This trip is designed for Basic Rock I graduates or folks with equivalent experience. Feel free to contact us with any questions about your skills. Price includes all group camping gear (tents, cooking gear, etc.), 3 dinners, transportation, all necessary climbing gear, and professional guides. This is a one of a kind adventure so don't miss out!

Tahoe Intermediate Climbing

Have you taken our basic rock climbing class or have some indoor climbing experience and want something new? Then this class is for you. This 2-day climbing adventure will take you to some of the classic climbing areas in the Lake Tahoe area.

The emphasis will be on outdoor techniques like smearing, balance, and hand holds, long top-rope climbs, and of course, safety! This is a great way to escape the summer heat of Sacramento and get some great climbing in while you're at it!

Basic Rock Climbing II - Anchors and More!

Have you attended our basic Rock Climbing I class and are ready for the next level? Or have you been climbing with more experienced partners outside but want to to learn how to go on your own? Then this class is designed for you. This class is for climbers who want to learn how to safely set up their own top-rope climbing systems. Transportation, instruction and climbing equipment, and dinner is provided.

All students should have Basic Rock I skills or equivalent. Including: solid belay technique, harnesses knowledge and basic climbing knots.
