Program FAQs

Is it safe?
Our course has an excellent safety record. The Peak Adventures Challenge Center is fully compliant with all current Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) standards, and undergoes an annual inspection from an ACCT Professional Vendor Member (PVM) in addition to quarterly inspections from qualified Peak Adventures staff members. Our staff receive extensive training to be able to deliver quality programming and recognize potential hazards before they become an issue. We proactively teach all of our participants to make good decisions regarding their involvement as well incorporating a philosophy where participants look out for each other. Physical and emotional safety is our number one priority.
What if it is raining?
The Challenge Center is outdoors and operates in a wide variety of weather conditions. Programs occur rain or shine. If it is raining the day of your program, you can assume that the program will happen. A Peak Adventure’s representative will call the group coordinator to cancel if weather conditions are unsafe.
What if I’m afraid of heights?
No problem! Challenge Center activities are centered on the concept of choice. Our staff will encourage people to step outside of their comfort zones and challenge themselves at the level they choose. We’ll also guide the group to understand the differences between healthy support and peer pressure. Many people use this opportunity to face their fear of heights in a controlled environment.
What do I wear?
The most important item is shoes. Everyone at the Challenge Center must wear secure close-toed shoes such as tennis shoes. Anyone wearing inappropriate shoes such as flip flops, sandals, and Crocs will not be allowed to participate. Sorry. Beyond that wear comfortable, durable clothes that you can play in.

What is a ropes course?
A ropes course can be defined as a series of elements, both high, built on trees, utility poles and structures, and low, close to the ground. The elements allow a person to undertake both horizontal and vertical challenges. These challenges can be done independently or with a team. At Peak Adventures, we have a wide variety of high and low elements, including a rock wall, catwalk, multi-line, and the infamous dive, a.k.a. the leap of faith. We use the ropes course in conjunction with fun and educational activities that promote personal development and team building through challenges both on the ground and in the air.
What will we be doing?
When you arrive at the ropes course, there are a variety of activities you will engage in. Each program is specifically tailored to achieve your goals and expectations. The activities will vary depending on the program you have chosen. Typically, each program will begin with an ice breaker to get the group warmed up. From there, the facilitator will lead a variety of energizers that will engage the group, leading into initiatives. Initiatives are different games designed to address the goals and expectations you have set for your team. During these initiatives, there may be low elements involved: name games, trust sequences, communication activities, and so on. After the initiatives are completed, the group moves on to the high elements, I.e. rock wall, the dive, etc. The program ends with one final closing activity and a wrap up of the group’s accomplishments.
This is a basic overview of what a ropes course entails. Again, each program is unique in its planning, development, and implementation.
What is a Team Lead?

The team lead is the point person for the program. The team lead will contact the client prior to the program to discuss the client’s goals and expectations. Then the team lead will develop a unique program for the client. During the program, the team lead is responsible for safety and well being of participants, as well as timely flow of the day’s activities and staff interactions with participants. The team lead will also be the person the client should contact if they have questions about the program.

Our Team Leads have over 500 hours of hands-on experience facilitating and leading groups through challenges and transformational activities. Their training includes technical ropes course safety management, CPR and first aid, as well as advanced facilitation, debriefing methods and group dynamics.

Birthday Blitz

Package A
What to Expect:  A variety of low element activities that are not only fun, but give opportunities for participants to step up into leadership roles.  Participants will engage in a variety of initiatives, working together as a team.  After the low element activities, participants will get to climb our 40ft. Rock Wall.  Then, we will set up our infamous Swing that sends participants careening throughout our Challenge Center.  Participants can expect to climb 3 high elements during this program.  There is a maximum of 12 participants for this three hour program.  This program is ideal for ages 8 and up.
Cost Set Group Pricing: Group is from 8-12 participants (3 hrs) both high and low activities

Package B
What to Expect:  A variety of low element activities set up in a competitive fashion.  There will be points scored and the winning team will walk away with some Peak swag.  During the competition, the group will enjoy some high flying climbing activities, including our 40ft. Rock Wall.  Participants can expect to climb 3 high elements during this program.  There is a maximum of 12 participants for this three hour program.  This program is ideal for ages 14 and up.
Cost Set Group Pricing: Group is from 8-12 participants (3 hrs) both high and low activities
