Gain some good tools and knowledge to handle a wilderness first aid emergency. This class is fun with lots of hands-on skills practice. The emphasis is on making good decisions by staying calm and safe, doing a good patient assessment, and having good communication and leadership. In addition to a half day of outdoor scenario practice of first aid and leadership skills, this class focuses on practicing: patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, heat and cold illnesses and much more. Successful completion of class includes a 3 year Wilderness First Aid certificate.
This class is taught by Bobbie Foster of Foster Calm. She has been teaching wilderness first aid across Northern California since 1994.
“Bobbie is a master teacher! She offers a medically up-to-date and interesting course and she keeps you on your toes with exciting practice session scenarios. I give her wilderness first aid classes the highest recommendation.”
Seth Holmes, UCSF medical student
