What if I’m a novice?

That’s perfect! We specialize in adventures for beginners. Peak Adventures is the gateway to getting you started in outdoor recreation. By providing transportation, some gear, and expert guides, we’ll make you feel at home in the outdoors. When you return from your trip, we guarantee you’ll have a greater sense of confidence in outdoor adventures. And, chances are, you won’t be alone; there will be many others who are new to the experience joining you on the trip.

What if I don’t know anyone?

If you’re signing up alone, don’t worry! One of the best things about our trips is that you’ll have the chance to meet and bond with new people. Most of our trips include a pre-trip meeting, during which you’ll meet everyone else you’ll be traveling with, break the ice and get to know each other.

What is included?

Transportation to and from campus for most trips, expert guides, all technical gear and, depending on the trip, some meals. Oh, and fun. Did we mention fun?! A GREAT value!

Who leads the trip?

Your trip will be led by our experienced trip leaders! Some of our leaders are Sac State students and alums, while others are community members who also enjoy the outdoors. Each of our trip leaders have undergone 100+ hours of hands-on training with Peak Adventures, and have been certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and are certified Class B drivers. They all love the outdoors, love having fun, and love working with new people every day. You can read more about them here.

Empower yourself with the knowledge to fix your own bike! Learn about how to do a full tune-up in the basic class, while the advanced class takes you through a complete overhaul. Space is limited to 4 people, so sign up early!

Advanced Bike Maintenance

This 6-week intensive advanced bike maintenance class will teach you everything you need to know about your bike and how to work on it. We will cover everything from wheel truing to bearing overhauls; shifting and braking systems are also covered. This class is tailored to the students who enroll so that everyone gets the most out of the class. This class uses the Park Tool School curriculum, but goes into greater depth on some topics. Time permitting, we will cover bike ergonomics and suspension tuning/design as well.

While enrolled, repair class students will receive a 15% discount (includes student discount) on any parts and accessories they wish to buy through Peak Adventures. You may also choose to purchase the AK-32 Advanced Mechanic Tool Kit from Park Tool. Regularly $295 for a one-time deal of $240 with enrollment of the Advanced Bike Maintenance Class.

Gear Required:
Gear and all necessary equipment is included in the trip pricing. It is participant's responsibility to reserve it by providing a security deposit upon pickup.
