How Equipment Rental Works

 

1. Reserve your equipment

  • You can do this over the phone or in person. You can start the process with this form.
  • Your rental is not confirmed & gear is not held until payment is made.
  • We encourage you to reserve in advance to ensure the equipment you want is available.
  • Please note the cancellation and refund policy. You must cancel 2 days prior to the pick-up day in order to receive a refund. Cancellations made less than 2 days prior are non-refundable. Contact us for COVID-19 related cancellations.
    • For example: if you have a Friday pick-up, you must cancel by the end of the business day on the previous Wednesday to get a full refund. Canceling on Thursday or Friday is non-refundable.

2. Pick up your equipment and pay the security deposit

  • Arrive at our office at Sac State near HWY 50 in Sacramento. If you are heading to the mountains in Tahoe, the San Fransisco Bay Area, Yosemite, or using gear locally, our central convenient location makes pick-up and drop-off easy!
  • Please allow for at least 30 minutes to pick up your rental. Some items require additional instruction and fitting.
  • Security Deposit
    • The security deposit is per item.
    • For example: if you rent two sleeping bags, there is a deposit for each item ($150×2=$300 deposit).
    • Deposit can be made with a card or cash.
  • Credit/Debit Cards
    • Cards are kept on file for authorization purposes.
    • When you return the equipment, the authorization paperwork will be shredded.
  • Cash
    • Cash deposits are held until the gear is returned.

3. Have a great time on your trip

  • Treat the equipment as your own.
  • Take only pictures, leave only footprints :)
  • Leave No Trace :)
  • Use sunscreen :)

4. Return the equipment

  • Please return on time, any time we are open. See Hours Here
  • Please allow for at least 30 minutes to inspect all of your items. The more items you have, the more time we need.
  • Please return the gear in the same condition as it went out. There are fees for late returns as well as for items that are excessively dirty, damaged or missing any pieces.
  • Equipment returned late is subject to a late charge based on our late fee schedule. Late fees per day are equal to the cost of 1.5 days at the posted additional day rate.
  • You are solely responsible for the equipment and will be charged the full replacement cost for lost, stolen or badly damaged equipment.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We have a two day cancellation and refund policy. Cancellations made at least two days before the first day of your rental will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than two days in advance are non-refundable. Please contact us for COVID-19 related cancellations.
