This day camp for elementary school-aged campers is a great way to dip your toes into adventure while exploring Sacramento State’s campus and making new friends. Summer camp days are filled with a variety of fun outdoor and educational activities including climbing at the Challenge Center, water activities, arts and crafts, games, interactive campus tours, and more!

Your children are sure to receive the attention they deserve with our low counselor-to-participant ratio. Our highly qualified and dedicated staff creates a supportive environment for learning, laughs, and fun. Your camper will make new friends, and life-long memories and explore the possibilities at Sacramento State.

Itinerary

As soon as you drop your camper off, they jump straight into activities to get warmed up for the day. Usually, these involve group games to get moving and to get to know one another. Usually, mornings are jam-packed with 2-3 fun activities!

Activities occur throughout the day and are designed to keep campers engaged and interacting with one another. Specific activities and crafts will vary depending on the week.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does camp begin/end?

Drop-off for Junior Explorer camp activities begins each morning at 8:00 am. Camp activities end each day at 4:45 pm.

Drop-off is between 8:00 am – 8:15 am Pick-up is between 5:00 pm – 5:15 pm 

Where do I drop off/pick up my child?

Camp drop-off and pick-up is outside of Peak Adventures in front of The University UNION Building.  We’re located at Sac State, find us here.

What if my child is close to the age range?

Campers must be 8 – 11 years old by the first day of camp. Our activities are tailored specifically to this age range.  If your child is older, please check out our other camps.

What does my child need to bring to camp?

Your child needs to bring his/her own sack lunch plus morning and afternoon snacks every day. Campers do not have the opportunity to purchase food on campus. We suggest packing the following items each day:

  • Tennis shoes (no flip-flops or sandals allowed)
  • Lunch & snacks
  • Swimsuit & towel
  • Day pack
  • Refillable Water bottle
  • Sunscreen & Lip balm
  • Sweatshirt or light jacket
  • Hat or visor & Sunglasses (optional)

Camps must have a minimum number of campers for the program to run. No guarantees. You will receive a full refund for any canceled camps.
